I’m doing awful at maintaining this blog over the winter - we have SO MANY shoots to post, a wedding still to post!  What a terrible, terrible blogger I’ve been.  I will start from right now forward to try & do a better job posting here.

Forgive me for being lax? 

Remember last year when we took A.’s first communion pictures?  Well her mom sent her cousin L. to us for her first communion portraits.  We have the best clients.  L. is beautiful in her first communion gown.  She is such a silly and so, so, so much fun to work with.  Thanks for the trust you have in us.

 

 

Oh my gosh!  I have been so lucky to work with so many babies lately.  Check out this ultra-cutie.  

 

I love my job

I think R. must be the smiley-est baby I ever got the chance to shoot with!  What a doll baby.  She was just as pleasant as can be the whole time.  Her mom says I’m going to get the chance to see her again in a few months.  I can’t wait.

This is so funny!  Someone pointed out to us that this could describe wedding photography with the INSANE influx of new photographers lately.

Hi!  We’re still here & alive!  Most of our slower season has been spent working on the house & new projects but we’re still here doing portraits, models, family stuff, babies - you name it, we’re still taking it’s photograph.

We get to kick our 2008 season off with Jacqui & John, a great couple we finally got to meet this past week. Here are some images from their session AND your first brand spankin new 2008 images to view!!!

 

Tonight we had the priviledge of attending the 7th Anniversary Swinging Sweet Cabaret at the On Center sponsored by the Guardian Angel Society. We originally went to this event *mostly* because Sarah heard Maria Desantis on the radio plugging it and Maria is a friend of ours from the wedding industry.

We thought it would be a great Valentine’s “Date” to go on tonight. They were planning dancing, music, and a GUILT FREE chocolate fountain (we try our best not to dip even one marshmellow in our client’s fountains but tonight was ALL OURS!)

When we arrived however, we learned a lot more about the Guardian Angels. The Guardian Angel Society is a fund used to help educate children of diverse cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds. More importantly, the founder was Father Joseph Champlin. We’ve had many opportunities to work with Father Champlin. Last month he passed away and we will deeply miss him on our photographic forays to Cathedral.

(I don’t usually do this sort of thing but I feel compelled tonight.)

Dear Father Champlin,
We had a great time tonight and your organization is amazing. They did you proud and there was MUCH dancing! We will miss you every time we enter Cathedral and every time we attend your event. Your life, church, organization and your friends - they are all excellent and well worth the time & efforts you put in while you were here.

Fr. Joseph Champlin, 1930-2008

We’re still alive!  We’re just digging ourselves out from the new snow and we keep plugging away at the studio and home.  We were excited about all the stuff to do and sometimes it’s just plain overwhelming! 

Lots of news, excitement & notes coming soon - we’re still in the process of putting together our first every newsletter.  I’ll make sure you hear about that here as well.  Then we’re going to TRY to catch you up on this incredible offseason of work, play, fun and craziness!

Rather than do that - how are YOU?  Yes, you the blog readers.  The Careys and Caseys and Staceys & Vickis and Heidis and Kristin/Kristens… how are all of you out in blog land?  Ronice & Kristina & Mabyn & Tim & my family & the photographers reading this right now - how are YOU?  That’s what I want to know about right now.

During our normal booking season (November through April) we get a lot of questions - some great, some…not as great.  But the question I LOVE answering most is “Why should we book PI over XX Photography?”

I wrote up a list awhile ago & put it on our website but knowing that not everyone reads it there, I thought I would add it to the blog in case someone was wondering “Why should I book Picture Infinity Studios for my wedding?”  If you have more reasons than I’ve listed please put them in the comments!

* Your memories are *safe* with us.  All of our images are double and triple backed up, one copy of the images is kept off-site and we have our entire 2004, 2005, 2006 and partial 2007 season completely stored.  If you lose a disk you bought, we’ll make you another.  If you move to New Orleans or San Diego and something happens to your album, we have the means of remaking it.  As long as the media lasts, we will have a copy of your original and edited photos.

We’ve recently hired TWO new associate photographers, Mabyn & Tim and I JUST NOW put Mabyn & Tim’s pricing online.

The best thing about having new photographers in a whole other price range is that for so long we’ve been shooting in a range ($1500-$2900) where we had fantastic clients. These clients often send us referrals but when their friends come to us, now we’re $2800-$5000. This frustrates the friends who can’t afford us. It also frustrates our happy referring clients that their friends aren’t happy & think we’re too expensive.

So our solution was to create those price ranges again at Picture Infinity. If someone wants Tim for 4 hrs + a dvd of edited images, that will start at $1110. So our prices now range $1110 all the way through our Infinity Package which is $5000. With Tim & Mabyn, we hope to be able to serve ALL the referrals people want to send us. No more “we’re already booked” five times a year for a popular date, no more “we’re $3600, take it or leave it” packages. We are trying to give everyone exactly what they want and hope this helps!
